What is United Wireless Internet?

United Wireless Internet utilizes the licensed 700MHz spectrum, which allows the wireless signal to penetrate through most trees, and that there will be no interference from other wireless providers. Our Wireless Internet has a range of up to 20 miles, depending on the terrain between you and the tower.

Where are our towers located?

United currently has Wireless Internet towers in Dodge City, Minneola, Bucklin, Jetmore, Coldwater, Protection, Kinsley, and Meade. Other areas that we can reach include the ones previously mentioned, as well as Mullinville, Wilmore, Plains, Lewis, Offerle, Ford County, Hodgeman County, Edwards County, Kiowa County, Meade County, and surrounding areas. Note: Please contact United to be sure that Wireless Internet is available at your location.

What kind of speeds should you expect?

We offer a best effort kind of service. This means we don't cap your bandwidth. On average you should be able to get 500k of upload and download speeds but you can expect it to range from 300k to 1200k depending on network loads and your use of your internet.

What is a typical installation?

Most installations consist of an external radio mounted on the roof, eave, or a TV tower facing our tower. Then we will install a CAT5 wire into the house to the computer. At the computer there will be a modem that provides power to the radio and a port to connect with your computer. Your computer will need an Ethernet port in order to interface with our equipment. We can install an Ethernet card if you do not have one for an additional cost. Depending on your location and indoor radio may be used. If you live farther out or in dense trees an external 5ft yagi antenna may be needed in addition to the external radio.

What does it cost?

$85 will get you up and running on United Wireless Internet. This will be collected when you sign up for service. United Wireless Internet is just $49 a month unless you have a cell phone plan with us and then it is only $39 a month.
